A bar that had potential, now closed (for the past 10 years), was called FIREWALKERS on the corner of Franklin Rd and Pendleton Pike.
Sure, it was a dive that catered mostly to strippers and pole dancers on the weekends, but they had a nice stage, good lighting and sound system, and what could have been a decent atmosphere had the place not closed down.
Played there in the old band at least 2 or 3 times back when they were still open and it was always unique (even if hardly anybody ever showed up). There was even a cool little tattoo parlor right behind the bar where I got a couple tats.
Indicative of the local music scene, Firewalkers is now a pawn shop, and the tattoo parlor is a Mexican grocery store...
