There are many more, but these were the first 10 that came to mind (and were easiest to find, though some had to be substituted for live versions of the original).
I personally found all of these to be influential in my own life, as they surely were for many other fans. These are some of the most well made, original, and artistic music videos to date!
Groundbreaking and memorable for many elements.
In no order:
Pretty much everything by Floyd is amazing ain't it?!
Pretty much everything by Tool is amazing ain't it?!
Possibly Faith No More's best (though Patton and Mr. Bungle put out some good videos too), this might have been the first official declaration of 'Generation X'.
Highly influential band, this is probably Sound Garden's greatest visual masterpiece.
Bjork, pretty much all of her work is both beautiful and mesmerizing. Consistently over the years, she's got some of the absolute best music videos of all time.
'Jeremy' was another excellent Pearl Jam vid.
IMO, Metallica's best song and video.
Unfortunately, probably Nirvana's best video, though 'Smell's Like Teen Spirit' and 'In Bloom' can't be forgotten. Subsequently, Foo Fighter's 'Everlong' belongs on this list as well.
Though not technically a "music video", the 'Heavy Metal' movie (1981) is basically a continuous sound-track, specifically designed for the film. A cult classic, it's too bad they haven't been able to properly reinvent this format for a new generation.
Classic.
